They record audio and your notes are time-stamped to the time you took them in the audio-recording which is connected and right there with your notes. That said, I do appreciate an app like GoodNotes, Notability, and Noted for recording lectures and taking notes at the same time. Either way, I highly suggest checking out reviews/how-to’s about this app for research, and study in college or any deep study. from the LiquidText app to a PDF form for your computer if you cannot afford the subscription. On the other hand you can save your annotations in different forms so you could use it with your iPad and send your annotations from textbooks, webpages, PDFs, images, etc. The platform does allow syncing with a subscription though the price is a bit high in my opinion, though, it is so helpful, if I were back in college I would pay the subscription because of how easily you can add, compare, and link documents with it (esp. LiquidText is pretty freakin’ amazing as far as annotating, highlighting, “excerpting”, and cross-relating large amounts of info goes. I do have to mention LiquidText for iPad if you are in college or in deep study. It’s pretty awesome for switching between written and typed notes. Also, Nebo is another app that helps merge between iPad and Windows. I know Xodo seems to be popular with Windows though any intuitive features on iPad require a subscription whereas OneNote is free for the most part. They sell these on Etsy and other e-commerce stores and advertise them as being compatible with OneNote and other note-taking/PDF editing apps and therr are a lot of extremely helpful videos on YouTube to help you navigate this. I have not tried to use pre-designed digital planners/notebooks/journals in OneNote though I know many people do. I’ve never had a problem using OneNote between the two (though there may be limitations unbeknownst to me) and that is what I used and still use when taking educational notes I need to sync between the two devices. It was just a bit “glitchy” compared to using windows. The Teams app did not work quite as well with the MacOS interface as with windows though it did perform enough to have basic communication. I worked online with a company that sent us Mac desktops to work on but used Microsoft Teams (for example) as a communication app. Also, Microsoft applications did not work quite as well with macOS interfaces back in 2021. You can download the iCloud extension for Chrome to see your notes in the Chrome browser though I do find it’s not as smooth as using something like OneNote.
